My friend, particle physicist Matt Strassler and I are collaborating for a cool series called "Entertaining Science" that happens every month in the West Village at The Cornelia Street Cafe.  Music and particle physics in a bar - how else would you spend a Sunday evening?

For at its heart, the physical world is a musical world. From the vibrations of a guitar string to the sunlight that sweeps away the dark, and even as far as the notorious Higgs boson, our universe is awash in waves. Professor Matt Strassler, host of the website "Of Particular Significance", and Andrea Wittgens, ``silver-tongued'' singer-songwriter-pianist, join forces to reflect on these notions from perspectives scientific, sonic and poetic.  They'll sing us tales of the unknown, turn the volume down to the quantum level, shine photons on the mysterious particles of nature, and have fun doing it! A winter reunion with my dear and talented friend Brian Sizensky with whom I last did a collaborative set at the Fairfield Theatre Company.  So excited to get to sing with Brian again.  It will be a night featuring both of our songs as well as some fun covers...

This is the second of two Dark Songs showcases where the 2011 writers will be playing brand new songs and favourites from past years...

This is the first of two shows where the Dark Songs songwriters will showcase songs of the dark season from this years sessions and past years!

As many of you may be noticing, house concerts in all their forms are a blossoming trend all over the world. They provide a much needed return to an accessible and vibrant live music scene for people of all ages and in many cases they allow independent musicians (some of whom set up national tours of living rooms) to make a viable living doing what they love.

If you are interested in finding out more about living room concerts in general or would like to have me play in your home please don't hesitate to contact me - I'd love to talk to you about it! You don't need a mansion and a lot of fancy gear. Just a group of enthusiastic music lovers and a patch of floor carpet or lawn!

Live band members include Jimm McIver (lead vocals), Eric Lichter (keyboards and backup vocals), Andrea Wittgens (keyboards and backup vocals), Jeff Blancato (bass), Kelly Paletta (drums), Vincent Gates (guitar). The album also includes collaborations with Ken Stringfellow and Jeff Kelley.

 I really loved playing at Vivendo on my last northwest tour.  A beautiful piano nestled in the corner of an airy Italian restaurant complete with outdoor patio.  The food was splendid and ambience very relaxing.  Come join me for a glass or a meal - you can even sit with me as the top of the piano is in itself a bar!

 So excited to be back in one of my favourite venues ever!  Come join me - we'll make lots of magic...

 A music festival for bands making music for families, Kindiefest includes panels, an industry showcase and public performances!  The performances for the public aren't until May 1 and the band will be headed back to Seattle by then but I wanted to at least mention that The Board of Ed is proud to be included in the April 30th industry showcases!

 I have the honor of performing for the students and faculty of PS 257 School of the Performing Arts in Brooklyn with the incredibly talented Michele "Maisey" Mais of Broadway's "Rock of Ages".  We'll be doing a 45min set followed by a Q&A session.  Very excited for this!

I'm stepping out for the first time in a while to the West Village to debut some new tunes as well as play old favourites.  Caffe Vivaldi is a great listening room for acoustic music and features a food menu and full bar.  Hope to see you there!

Roger Greenawalt is taking over the Brooklyn Bowl stage to complete the feat of performing every single Beatles song on the ukelele over the course of two nights. Roger will be bringing out a host of special guests, you never know who may show up to do a song or two! 

 This is an extra special show because I'm sharing 2 hours of music with the very talented Brian Sizensky.  We debuted our duo show "Two Voices. One Guitar. One Piano" at the Fairfield Theatre Co in CT this past summer and now we're psyched to finally bring it to NYC.  During our two sets I play on Brian's songs, he plays on mine, we laugh, cry... it's better than Cats!
